A very effective way to drive targeted traffic to your website is Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising. It allows you to gain sales and let people know about new products or services. Although many people think that PPC advertising is all about outbidding your competition so you can have the top slot it also requires strategy and careful planning, through the use of keywords for searches and wording of your advertisement. With these two key concepts plus more that I’ll outline in this article you will be on your way to reaching your target audience.
You will want to find keywords that are not overly competed for. Maybe try a phrase or misspelled keyword. Also identify your target audience, who do you want to click on these ads? Choose your search terms and phrases to match that audience and your product. Do your research, find products that aren’t overly saturated, keywords to go with that product, and how much competition you have.
Make a budget. PPC advertising can get quite costly, but being able to stick to a budget allows you to spend only what money you want to spend. Start out with a low budget, see how your first campaign runs and how your returns were, if they were good, increase that budget, and allow more people to see your ads. If it didn’t do very well, try a new strategy. With performance reports you can see which ads are doing well and which aren’t meeting expectations, use the data that you’ve collected to adjust your plan.
