PPC advertising can get you hundreds of clicks everyday and you might wait patiently assuming that all the targeted traffic will get you a lot of business. But when you log in to your affiliate accounts and see no sale, you really start to wonder if PPC advertising is even worth it.
PPC advertising is great when done right. For starters, you have to understand that the majority of people out there are looking for free information. For example, lets say someone is looking to buy a weight loss diet program. If you had put up a PPC advertisement that says “Lose 20 pounds in 10 days”, the customer will definitely click on it. But when he is redirected to your affiliate product page, there is a 99.5% chance that he will look around and then continue to search for free information.
These sort of customers are in the very early stages of product research. They have not even made up their mind to spend money on a weight loss product. You can avoid the costs of these people clicking on your advertisements by simply mentioning the fee for the product in the ad. Your traffic will dip dramatically but your conversion rates will increase quite well.
This is because the person who clicks on your advertisement which mentions a dollar figure is prepared to spend that money. He just needs to be convinced about the product to spend his money there and allow you to get that commission. Convincing him to buy is another ball game all together and you could achieve it with well written reviews.
But for starters, you can indicate that you are selling a product or service for a fee to eliminate clicks from people who are looking for free information.
