It works like this. Who ever gets the most hits, wins. That’s the likely scenario, but success actually goes beyond such rigid format. A multitude of sides can win. You probably already know this. Better than just hits, you want targeted hits. You want hits that lead to sales. Sales lead to the bank. The bank leads to the grocery store, homes, cars and all sorts of freedom, among other things. My string of cause and effect is presented to you, for the purpose of illustrating simple logic. Keyword success is rather mechanical. There are no mysteries, however certain search engines change their policy on a whim, in my opinion. We engage in contextual warfare upon implementing Paid Per Click Advertising (PPC). Sometimes PPC is worthwhile. This is one of my reasons for writing about contextual ware fare. It has been proven that marketers with a unique product can win the war. It does become much more difficult, for those who promote products in high competition.

Here’s a typical.example: A prospect has a desire in mind. Then the prospect types the word or words that describe what they want, into the search engine. The search engine presents a list of pages on the screen. It’s usually ten results per page. The most relevant text is on top and the rest precedes. Millions of clicks can happen for just one word, such as the words “money,” “paid” and so on. Keyword phrases are popular. Most search engines display paid per click ads next to the organic ads. Organic ads are free ads which are displayed usually on the left side of the page. The war begins.

It all has relevancy and preference, from top to bottom. You may have the most relevant keywords on your web site and still not get the highest rank, due to your web site’s history. Websites with a history of usually being relevant get first preference, for listing results. I’ve seen popular words and phrases get over a hundred thousand clicks. Clicks can go up as much as hundreds of millions per month. “The competition for top spot is, in effect a war.” No one gets shot, stabbed or bombed by their competitors, but the psychological aspects between adversaries are usually challenging, to say the least. The search engine is the “proverbial hill.” Everyone is battling to take the hill. The hill in war fare is a high ground that oversees everything. The person on top usually gets the most people viewing their web site.

Success doesn’t stop at being on top. There is beauty in not reaching the top. Any place on the first page of a search engine listing is enough to get quality hits. Actually the first eight positions are the best places to be. Of course, every one wants to be on top and there’s nothing wrong with that. Keep in mind all the way down to eighth position is enough to get great traffic to any site, when there are millions of hits. Eighth position is fine for a key word that gets one hundred million hits. What should be done when you can only get after the eighth position? How can one compete when their ad only reaches tenth position or lower? The solution to competing in an extremely competitive niche is to skillfully select key words that have less completion. “Work at home” is an extremely competitive key word phrase, however a phrase like “extra bucks” or moon light dollars” probably doesn’t have as much competition. These are merely examples. The idea here is to find as many subsets of your main topic as possible. Promote multiples of less popular relevant keywords. You can even get good traffic from promoting typos. The sum of many little clicks, from sub categories can supersede or be close to the amount of clicks you would get at the number one position, in your main category. This method is like being hungry in the woods, hunting deer meat and settling for quail. If you can’t get any quail, you may wind up catching salmon in the river. At least you can feed yourself some how. Understand this is tedious work and you may become frustrated unless you have strong determination. I don’t recommend competing in PPC competition to the novice. This article is merely to give newbies a brief overview of what to expect in the fight for PPC position. I call it “war.” The war can be brutal in terms paying for clicks. This is the main reason I suggest free advertising.

These are quick things that you can immediately do. I explain more technical things in my other writings. Glen P John invites you to witness a new Automatic Money Making System
