Basically this how a PPC model works if you’re clueless. You as the PPC advertiser pay for every click a user clicks on these ad links of yours that appears on search engines or sites you’re advertising at.

So in a way, its a way of getting traffic via payment, but you must remember that traffic must be of ‘quality’, so as to have a form of profit conversion. This is to make up and not just break even, for every advertising dollar that you’ve spent.

Do you know your product?

Before writing that PPC ad, you must know your product first before you can start doing the copywriting, or as I call it ‘bullshitting’. What are the great things about your product, business or services that makes it far much better and unique that anyone else. Focus on the good points and try not to oversell it.

What is your budget?

Always go into PPC campaign with a budget in mind. Don’t go half-hearted or unsure about the financial planning as it matters a lot. Know when to cut your losses and how much to bid. For me, I’ve always stayed within 5-10% of the budget if I were to ever exceed.

Bid the ‘right’ keywords

These days I look for keywords that are in the longtail. Shortail keywords has its effectiveness but your budget will run dry fast as its expensive. I’m doing my advertising for the long run, thus the longtail keyword. That’s my recommendation, yours can vary of course. Just make sure, the bottomline is to stay within the top position of placement at search engines.

How to find the ‘right’ keywords

I usually use Google Keyword Tool. That’s all I need. I do a search on generic keyword first. When the results are in, I would filter it by volume of search. Then I would proceed to picking up a few longtail keywords. From there I generate few multiple ads. Run these and from the findings, those ad with most ROI and excels well, I would use that ad as a final choice. A few tune-up and tweaks on that final ad, next thing you know, your ROI is off the roof!

Summary

So there you go, my steps in making a successful PPC advertising campaign. It’s all about trial and error. There’s no right or wrong, just you and the PPC. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Just keep on trying. Another tip is to use this Easy Cash PPC system which I used to kickstart my AdWords campaign.
